Our officers and the Divisions Empty
PostSubject: Our officers and the Divisions   Our officers and the Divisions I_icon_minitimeThu May 07, 2009 11:48 am

Ordo Templari is an organisation built up of four divisions which work together towards our common goals. Each division has its distinct flavour, and characters joining our ranks as Regulars will later be given the opportunity to specialize their characters with one of the other divisions. They will train and be given orders by their own division officers. These officers in turn report to the Strategos and/or the Seneschal.

General management
Grandmaster: Leoric
Strategos, General, Grandmaster. The title may varies just as the duties of this position. Utterly responsible OOCly and ICly for the Ordo Templari, it is the Grandmaster's job to guide the guild strategically, plan for the future, as well as make sure daily matters flow smoothly. The grandmaster keeps an overview of the divisions and how they work together, stepping in to help where needed.

Disciples of Atlantis
Master Instructor: Rhonius
Anyone in the Templari, regardless of division, has the right to study old tomes in the Templari Library. If your character wants to delve deeper into the secrets of the Atlanteans however, and learn to master their ways of magic, handling taint and dealing with the corrupted - you need to become a Disciple of Atlantis. Disciples will be the Templari trusted to perform dangerous tasks and rituals, lead relic hunt expeditions and handle artifacts which we find.

Disciples will go through a series of training sessions, a program, lead by the Disciple officers. Regarding these sessions the following can be said:
  • They include lectures/demonstrations in Atlantean lore and history and magic use.
  • We have Disciple officers hold these sessions once, maybe twice a week
  • Lessons include how the Atlanteans view the various disciplines of magic, how to use it without taint and how to deal with corrupted art users.
  • Lessons include various Atlantean rituals, to spice up our RP and give it more Atlantean flavour.
  • In the end, for the final lesson, a bonding ritual is taught. This will then be used by the Disciple to bind a Phoenix Guard (see further down) to them as their personal bodyguard.

A Disciple who has finished their training and learnt the Bonding Ritual will be promoted to guild rank Phalanx.

Phoenix Guard
Captain: Bjornia
This division trains up potential warriors to become expert bodyguards, trained in the Atlantean Way of the Phoenix fighting style. You will be part of a well oiled organization built up to protect the Disciples as they embark on their missions. You will be the muscle during expeditions and you will of course be our protectors should we come under attack from other factions. Roleplaying a Phoenix Guard in the Templari means you will be willing to take part of some regimented training, sparring and exercises.

Templari instructors and captains will teach you ancient Atlantean fighting techniques (through emoted fighting) and in fact for those sessions - the lesser trained your character is to begin with, the better. If you want to roleplay a wet behind the ears recruit who is capable of following order and regiment, you will be perfect for the Phoenix Guard. If you want to roleplay an already powerful warrior with your own fighting techniques, you will be expected to hold high standards in RP from the start, and you will still be expected to partake in training drills nonetheless.

A fully trained Poenix Guard is a mighty warrior indeed, and the goal of the trainees is to complete their training and then be chosen by a Disciple for personal bodyguard duty. A special ritual for this is taught by the end of the Guard training. The other half of the ritual is performed by the Disciple, joining the two into a close team of companionship, and mutual protection.

A Phoenix Guard who has completed their training will be promoted to guild rank Phalanx.

Shadows
Spymaster: lalalalalaaa
The Shadow division is not an "official" Templari division. If asked, Templari will acknowledge such a thing possibly existing, but who is to say whether it is a rumor or who is actually part of this group?

Sometimes, times require that Templari keep eyes and ear open, as well as a capable and even ruthless core of people who can perform the "dirty work". Rank and file Templari won't know ICly who is in the division. Anyone in the Templari can be recruited into the Shadows. Regular, Disciple or Phoenix Guard. Recruiting won't happen openly, but people found suiting (those who show initiative and skill in these matters) will be discretely approached by the Shadows for a talk. There is a hidden forum for these guys as well - it's no fun to have a neat little list of who's a Shadow and who's not.. You might OOCly figure out anyway who's a Shadow agent, but do try to remember to separate OOC knowledge from IC.

Shadows will have their own agenda and training, and stand outside the other divisions as such. Missions will involve information gathering, sabotage, infiltration and sometimes murder.

Shadows can, as said above, be either Disciples or Phoenix Guards. If they are, they will proceed with those roles as normal as their "cover". If they are Regulars, their cover will be whatever they brought with them. Cook, merchant, adventurer, whatever.

Regulars
Master of Recruits: Pallaetes
This is the main body of the Templari, and all new recruits will start out here. This is not a division as such, but more a common name for those who have not specialized with one of the divisions. Characters among the regulars can be anything. Cooks, gardeners, old retired soldiers, smiths, healers, ex slaves, artisans, guardsmen, librarians, hobby scholars, maids, stable boys, adventurers - you name it. Basically you bring your character's role with you into the Templari and keep it with us.

Regulars of lowest rank (Conscripts) stand under the direct command of the Master of Recruits. Upon promotion, as a regular you will stand under the command of all Templari higher ranked than you, but they won't expect much of you. You will swear a crystal oath upon joining and you will swear a Chiliostys oath on becoming a full Templari. Honouring the oaths is all that is expected of you - no more and no less. No mandatory drills or magic lessons.

A regular (or any Templari for that matter) can rise to Phalanx rank by showing devotion to the guild, among other ways by donating 10.000 units of needed guild city resources.
