You want to sponsor someone? Please read!

Any Templari of Chiliostys or higher rank can sponsor a new potential recruit. Sponsoring is quite easy, but involves responsibility and a sensible judgement from you, our existing members. Here's a little checklist:

1) First of all, make as sure as you can that the player is not an asshat. Sometimes hard to tell of course - but often you can get a general feel about someone.

2) Make sure the character (as opposed to the player) understands what Ordo Templari is about.

3) Make sure the character actually wants to join us. When they get to meet an officer for the final interview, that should be established.

4) If they are beginner roleplayers - make sure they understand the fundamentals of roleplaying, difference between IC and OOC, godmoding and such. We'll be happy to nurture beginners, but they do need to grasp the basics first.

5) Make sure they have applied here on the forums, read and understood our rules.

6) Post in their forum application post that you sponsor them.

If at any stage of the RP you get bad vibes and/or OOC talks with the recruit - don't sponsor and don't be bullied into doing so! If they give you a hard time about it, refer them to an officer.

please also emphasise that is is a military organisation and on urgent occasions people will have to take orders without question, though of course it can be discussed later?

Some people are more suited to a loose hand, some are happier in structure, and scholars aren't the best at military stuff. But the Templari are military, have to be, and on rare occasions commands have to be given and obeyed by all.
