Forum use
We provide these forums as a home for our members as well as for our friends and guests who wish to say hello. We expect people to use common courtesy while posting here, and to act civil with one another. While heavy moderating has never been needed so far, we will keep an eye on posts and threads, and the Templari officers reserve our right to moderate these as needed. To avoid having your post moderated and/or your thread locked, keep away from the following:

  • Religiously offensive/discriminating posts
  • Racially offensive/discriminating posts
  • Sexually offensive/discriminating posts
  • Personal attacks/public ranting
  • Spam posting

If you have personal issues with someone, use PM! If you have a problem with someone sending you offensive PMs, report it to a forum admin and we will look into it. Offenses will generally result in warnings, while repeat offenses will result in banning from forums and kicking from guild if applicable. If you're in doubt about what you are about to post is okay, it is better to err to the side of caution and check with someone first.

Guild channel and roleplay
We ask that no one talks OOC in the guild channel. This includes smileys and shortform such as "thx", "grp", "lvl", "u" etc etc. We try to keep the immersion intact, and instead use emotes and words that corresponds better with the game world. For example you could say "season" instead of "level" and "I need a rest" instead of "dinner's ready, brb". The IC guildchat is explained in guild lore and roleplay upon recruitment and does make sense. Groups are often used for OOC talk to compliment the IC guildchat and say channels. OOC is perfectly fine in tells, but don't be surprised if people sometimes roleplay there as well, as per the same Atlantean magic which allows the IC guildchat.

Finally, remember that roleplay is for the fun of everyone! If you are uncertain if someone understood the difference between IC and OOC, it costs nothing to send them an OOC tell to make sure they're fine with things. We have many people trying out roleplay for the first time. Let's not scare them too much! Smile Also, new guys, remember that your ICly unpleasant guildmate is probably a very charming person OOC, so don't be afraid to ask them to team up for roleplay or other things!

Cooperation
Try to be helpful towards eachother at all times. As a guild, we all work towards the same goal, and what you give one day will surely be returned to you the next. Remember that the guild is what we, all the members, make it into. So ask yourself "what can I do for the guild?" and you will rewarded back tenfold as the guild flourishes and its members with it!

Donations
We encourage donations of items and coin to the Guild Bank. Items of a blue or greater quality can sometimes be of great benefit to younger members. An item that may bring you only a few silver if sold could bring someone ten times that worth in use. Addition: We have had so many items flooding the guild bank that we've had to create extra alts for just handling these. Please be restrictive with what you put in the guild bank - we have very limited space there! Lately we have had the help of an item handler in the guild named Chandrala. Chandrala is ICly a bed ridden girl who is cared for by her brother, Rvannith. Chandrala has, despite her sickness, been blessed with strange sights and visions, and can reveal mystical insights to Templari who learn to ask her in the proper ways. OOCly, Chandrala is an automatic chat-bot, created by Rvannith. Please refer to guides in the private AoC forums on how to use her to donate items and other things!

Crafting materials should be sent directly to the lead crafters and not be put in the guild bank. We actively encourage crafting and helping eachother craft. Any donations of crafting materials are greatly received. Of course, in return you should feel free to put a request in to any of our lead crafters for an item you need. In addition, materials are used for guild buildings. There is great demand on resources for these and we never want to make demands of our members so rely on donations.

Finally coin. This is for the production and upkeep of the guild city. It's also the thing people tend to let go the hardest! Building the guild city is very expensive, but again as above, we do not want to make demands and just rely on donations. There is no maximum nor minimum for donations, it is entirely your choice.

We keep records and "halls of fame" for people who have donated coin and city building materials. We ask that donations are made per in game mail, and that you note if you want your name on it in the credit posts on the forums.

Note that building materials in uneven number piles won't be counted. We will happily take anything but, to ease some of the hefty admin work, only even hundreds will be recorded - so try and hold onto your resources until you have such amounts if you want full credit.

Requests
Once you have been promoted to Chiliostys, and you see anything in the guild bank that you would like to use, please contact an officer by in game mail and they will arrange for it to be sent to you by mail as soon as possible. Just remember that officers are humans too and are sometimes out crushing skulls with the rest!

Alts
Many have asked what our policy on alts is. Basicly - feel free to bring a couple alts into the ordo, but think about the following:

1) You only need one username here on the forums no matter how many alts you have.
2) Make sure your alts have their own distinct personalities and backgrounds.
3) Alts need to go through the same steps as anyone else seeking to join the Templari. They need a sponsor and they need an interview and swear an oath before an officer.
4) Make sure you don't "crossalt" too much. That is - don't roleplay your alts as if they shared eachother's minds and lives. They are supposed to be separate people and probably have no idea what your other alts feel and think. If someone asks for help on for example a quest, it's often better to just send the person an OOC /tell with the information instead of assuming the alt automatically knows everything an "older" alt might know. Some people like having their alts being family and that's fine - but keep the above in mind as well. If your alt is the very knowledgeable type perhaps they would have picked up this information anyways, but it shouldn't always be the case. Keep alts, their personalities and knowledge, separate! Smile

Inactivity
Sometimes we all need a break. Whether it's for a trip, computer problems, money issues or just needing new pastures and a change of pace. It is appreciated if you let us know when you plan to be away or inactive for any longer period of time. There is a forum section for this for ease of management and for people to post their heads-ups in so that we don't need to worry needlessly. Smile
